Pim de Weerd, Global Mobility Manager, Philips was awarded the prize for European Smart Mobility Manager of the Year.

Mr de Weerd received the prize from Ivan Lequerica, Vice President, Geotab.

"This is a boost to stay committed to this exciting transformation process from fleet to mobility management," said Mr de Weerd during the online awards ceremony.

The European Smart Mobility Manager of the Year award is about excellence in mobility with the offering of alternative and innovative mobility modes next to the company car.

The smart mobility strategy developed at Philips focuses on optimising flexibility, sustainability and total cost of mobility, taking into account stakeholder and employee satisfaction.

Mr de Weerd and Philips have successfully set up various mobility projects in China, the Netherlands, United Stated and Germany and is piloting multiple initiatives like the mobility card, carsharing, ridehailing, on-demand shuttle services and e-biking.

The ultimate aim is to implement an end-to-end process that enables all employees to plan, book and pay for all mobility solutions on a single platform. This should lead to zero-emission mobility in the Netherlands by 2025.

The Philips fleet consists of 12,000 vehicles worldwide, with 4,500 in Europe.
