Ubirider and Mastercard partner to provide MaaS solutions

Ubirider, the Portugal-based providers of the mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform Pick, is partnering with Mastercard to develop innovative digital solutions for public transport agencies. These solutions will combine operational, payment and ticketing resources data. 

The partnership will expand on exisiting products in Portugal by simplifying access and payments for mobility services. Ubirider’s Pick comprises mobile apps, cloud software and web portals, and incorporates payment tech that benefits both operators and users. 

“We partnered with Ubirider because their platform directly addresses rapidly evolving user and transit operator needs”, says Chapin Flynn, Mastercard’s Senior VP for Transit and Mobility.

In July, Ubirider already partnered with Mastercard to implement the first Tap-on-Phone traffic application into Pick Driver, its app for bus drivers. This allowed the acceptance of contactless payments on local buses in the Portuguese city of Evora. The nascent partnership also convinced Fertagus, the operator of Lisbon’s suburban trains (pictured), to adopt Pick.
