New Range Rover Velar: performance meets TCO and CSR
With the introduction of the plug-in hybrid P400e model, the upgraded Range Rover Velar meets the demands of discerning company car drivers while offering compelling TCO numbers and aligning with your company’s desire to ensure sustainability in its activities.
Many corporates have been waiting for the new PHEV model in the Jaguar Land Rover range, which now comprises 8 plug-in hybrid models and one all-electric vehicles. Even more EVs will be launched over the next years as part of the OEM’s comprehensive electrification strategy.
“The new P400e model in the Velar range features a state-of-the-art 300 PS 2-litre 4-cylinder Ingenium petrol unit and a 143PS electric motor, which combined enable a sprint to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. Yet, JLR engineers succeeded in keeping CO2 emissions below 50 g/km thanks to the integration of a 17,1kWh battery, resulting in an electric range of 53km under WLTP conditions,” says Simon Dransfield, Director Fleet & Business Europe at Jaguar Land Rover.
“As a USP, the battery it can be charged not only with AC at a rate of 7kW, but also at a DC fast charger. Half an hour is enough to reach 80% state of charge,” he adds.
TCO: a matter of active RV management
The residual value performance puts considerable weight in the TCO balance. That is why Jaguar Land Rover monitors and improves RV and TCO performance of their products from the development process through the whole lifecycle of a vehicle.
Autovista research shows that the Range Rover Velar P400e has the best RV performance in Germany compared to its main competitors in a 36 month/60,000km scenario. “The strong RV performance of the Range Rover Velar supports the model’s TCO,” says Christoph Ruhland, Director Sales Europe at Autovista Group.
“We work closely together with residual value consultancy firms to make sure we get our product proposition right. For the customer, this results in vehicles that are particularly well-specced. In this respect, it is worth mentioning that the upgraded Velar is now available with the truly state-of-the-art Pivi Pro infotainment system with over-the-air update capability as well as Active Road Noise Cancellation. Driving in EV mode has never been more quiet and relaxing, enabling the occupants to enjoy the on-board technology and refinement even more,” concludes Simon Dransfield.
Also mild hybrid diesel and petrol
The entire engine line-up of the Range Rover Velar has now been electrified. In addition to the new PHEV model, the sporty, elegant SUV is available with the latest four-cylinder and new in-line six-cylinder petrol and diesel Ingenium engines featuring Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology. All Velar models feature intelligent all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmissions.
