800 e-busses for Paris

The city of Paris ha ordered 800 electric busses. For the French capital, electric busses are a win-win strategy in beating traffic related emissions and traffic congestion.

The order of 800 e-busses is the biggest order of e-busses in Europe so far. The busses will be constructed by three French manufacturers: Heuiliez, Alstom and Bolloré. Each of them will provide a third of the order, which counts for €400 million in total, completely financed by the Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), the transportation agency in the region.

The first 150 busses will start operating between the end of 2020 and 2022, the others will follow by 2025. The goal of the city of Paris is to have a 100% clean bus park, of which two thirds will be electric and one third will be biogas driven.
