Luca de Meo named new Renault CEO

At the start of the year, Seat announced the resignation of Luca de Meo as the company’s president. Rumours had it he would move to Renault to step in the shoes of the fallen Carlos Ghosn, leading to a play of musical chairs at Renault.

Today, Renault has confirmed Luca de Meo will be their new CEO, replacing Clotilde Delbos, Renault’s interim CEO who had herself replaced Thierry Bollore after he stepped down in October.

Ms Delbos could stay on as deputy CEO after Mr de Meo takes office on 1 July.

Mr de Meo was CEO for Seat for five years, leading Seat to record sales and giving the brand a sportier image, including the creation of the Cupra sub-brand.
