“A great opportunity to learn about Remarketing strategies and practices”

As per annual tradition, the Remarketing Forum will be held on the first day of the Fleet Europe Summit – which this year takes place on 16 and 17 November in Dublin. Why should you attend the Remarketing Forum? We asked Jost Dieckhaus (pictured), Vice President Remarketing Europe at AUTO1 Group, one of the event’s sponsors.

Check out the programme for the Fleet Europe Remarketing Forum and register to attend.

Why is the Remarketing Forum important for you?

Jost Dieckhaus: “The Remarketing Forum is always a fixed date in my calendar. It is a great event to meet relevant contacts in the remarketing and fleet industry, and a place where speakers and attendees share innovative and forward-thinking ideas and inspiring visions on the Remarketing business. I always enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and engaging discussions. For me, it’s one of the most important dates of the year.”

This year’s Remarketing Forum focuses on the three trends disrupting the industry today: Electrification, Distribution and Digitisation. In your opinion, how can remarketers make the most of these trends?

“If remarketing players want to be successful, there is definitely no way around these three topics. Due to the supply shortage and to inflation, reach currently is and will continue to be the top priority to make use of different market situations in Europe. To prepare for electric vehicles arriving in the used car market, remarketing businesses need to gain knowledge on evaluating and pricing EVs, hence determining residual values. In my opinion, this is only possible with digital tools. At AUTO1.com we offer the award-winning AUTO1 Price Indicator and the AUTO1 EVA App. Sellers can sell any car directly to over 60,000 buyers in Europe.”

What will attendees learn at the Remarketing Forum? In other words: why should they attend?

“The Remarketing business will always be the key to success for dealerships and fleet owners. The automotive industry is still witnessing a car shortage. Nevertheless, efficient processes for B2B sales support the daily business and need to be maintained in parallel. Therefore, I think it is necessary to be up to date with current trends and innovations in the remarketing business. The Remarketing Forum is a great opportunity to learn about strategies and best practices in that matter and to connect with fleet and mobility industry decision-makers.”

AUTO1.com is a past winner of the Remarketing Award. Can you tell us how that affected your business? And what would your advice be to companies considering taking part in this year’s award competition?

“The team and I are very proud to have won the award last year. Our partners really appreciated it, and for my colleagues and team, it was very motivating. The AUTO1 EVA App with the Price Indicator, for which we won the award, truly is the core of our digital remarketing services. To apply to the Remarketing Award may seem complex at the beginning, but actually, it is a great way to learn and improve on how to present your own digital tools. It also showed us how external parties perceive our tool and which questions are being asked. The input was very valuable and my advice to potential participants is to give it a shot - you will learn a lot along the way.”

Finally, can you tell us a bit about your own upcoming contribution to the Remarketing Forum?

“I am happy that I will be joining the closing panel to recap the discussed topics of the summit and I am looking forward to a great conversation and lots of networking!”
