Certified used-car platform heycar launches in France

Heycar, the multi-brand platform for online trading in certified used cars, has launched in France. It’s the fourth market for the company, which is already established in Germany (2017), the UK (2019), and Spain (2020).

Concurrent with the company’s market entrance in France, its shareholders, now consisting of VWFS, VW Group, Daimler Mobility, and Allianz, will be joined by Groupe Renault and RCI Bank and Services.

350,000 vehicles

Launched four years ago, heycar now has an international offering of over 350,000 certified and guaranteed vehicles, a network of over 6,000 dealers, and a range of value-added services. The cars presented on the platform are all less than 8 years old, have a mileage of less than 150,000 km, and are offered with a dealer warranty.

The company’s main goal is to deliver the best possible experience to both used-car buyers and to the various players that offer the product. The platform is open to resellers of all brands, but also benefits from its close links with Daimler, VW and Renault, and their dealer networks. This gives buyers the flexibility to buy their used car online, or via a brick-and-mortar dealership.

Trusted partner

According to a survey conducted for heycar France, 75% of French consumers are more worried about buying a used car than buying a new one. In fact, 87% say they turn to branded dealers to seek reassurance via a warranty or a certified vehicle history. And that, exactly, is the heycar brand promise: “By working directly with OEMs and their dealers, we are a trusted partner for buyers. We offer attractive prices and additional services, soon including financing and leasing”, says Mathias Hioco, CEO of heycar France.

Heycar’s French customers can now select certified and guaranteed used cars from more than 100 dealer groups. At launch, the company has around 30,000 vehicles available on the platform. The aim is to expand its multi-brand offer and increase that figure to more than 100,000 by the end of 2022. Next year, heycar France will also add features to improve the customer experience, including financing and insurance.
