Metropolitan Police deploy fuel cell electric Toyotas

The Metropolitan Police Service, responsible for law and order in most of London, has taken delivery of 11 Toyota Mirai fuel cell electric cars. They will be deployed as both marked and unmarked vehicles for overt and covert police operations.

The Met's Mirai fleet will help them create the world's largest fleet of zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell electric police vehicles.

Neil Jerome, the Met's Commander, commented: "This is enabling us to make great strides towards our ambition of procuring 550 vehicles as zero or ultra-low emission by 2020."
