Nissan unveils "all-new" Townstar to replace existing LCV line-up

Nissan Townstar is a new addition to electric LCV's.

Nissan released its newest electric van, the Townstar to replace e-NV200 in its European commercial vehicles line-up.

The Townstar has several new features compared to the e-NV200, starting with the battery. A 44 kWh battery generates 122 hp, 245 Nm of torque and a range of 285 kilometres. Townstar will have a maximum 22 kW charge speed capability, reaching 80% charge in 42 minutes.

Townstar will come with ProPilot Assist, an advanced driver assistance system to keep the van centred in a lane during driving. One of 20 technical features of the Townstar is Trailer Sway Control.

Other important safety features include the Intelligent Emergency Braking for the fully electric version of Townstar. The refined gasoline version of Townstar features Intelligent Cruise Control.

Drivers will access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on an 8-inch touchscreen and will have wireless phone charging.

The design reflects the lines of Ariya

Townstar has 3.9 square metre cargo space, which can carry two Euro pallets and an additional 800 kg. The LCV’s towing capacity is 1,500 kg. Large sliding doors in the cargo area and 180 degree opening rear doors ease cargo loading and unloading.
