BMW connected data available on Geotab platform

Data from the integrated telematics functions of BMW Group cars is now accessible to fleets, leasing and rental companies that use the Geotab platform, following a new partnership between the two companies.

The agreement means fleet decision makers will be able to access OEM data directly from their BMW Group vehicles, without the need to install telematics devices. black boxes or visit a workshop.

The turnkey solution does not require vehicles to visit a workshop, and initially covers 30 European countries[1] and all cars from year of manufacture 07/2018. Older vehicles would need to be retrofitted with a Geotab device.

OEM data

BMW is the latest manufacturer to integrate its proprietary data with the MyGeotab platform, following similar moves by Citroen, DS, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Opel / Vauxhall, Peugeot and Renault.

This presents fleet managers with a consistent picture of their entire fleets, across all brands, model years, and fuel types, presented in uniform reports.
